Here is a simple Gym plan to get you started.
 1. WARM UP – The best machine is the cross-trainer because you will use more muscle groups then on any other machine, so you only need to push yourself to around 50 or 60% (effort level) in warm up mode.
 2. WHAT TO DO FIRST – WEIGHTS OR CARDIO ?
For stamina & endurance, do cardio first.
For strength & power, do weights first.
3. WHAT IS THE BEST CARDIO MACHINE ?
Scientific tests have shown the fastest calorie burners, in the following order, for the average person working at an average pace to burn 400 calories.
1. Treadmill                 28mins
2. Cross-trainer            32mins
3. Rowing Machine     42mins
4. Bike                         54mins
4. WEIGHTS – HOW MANY REPS’ & WHY ?
For Strength – 3 sets of 4-8 reps’ at 90% of your maximum lift.
For muscle growth – 3 sets of 10-12 reps’ at 75% of your maximum lift.
For tone & endurance – 3 sets of 15-18 reps’ at 60% of your maximum lift.
